Craig Nairn
managing director and founder
Craig founded Nairn Construction in 2016, following an extensive career in construction that included working for a tier one contractor, where he first met Michael. Craig progressed from project manager to contracts manager for large construction companies, overseeing numerous multi-million-pound contracts around the UK.
When Nairn Construction was first established, Craig served as a consultant project manager on several well-known local projects, including the McVities Flood Defence project for Story Construction in Carlisle and the new flagship offices of Grange Quarry in Lockerbie. He later employed a team to undertake the civil engineering and construction works in house, growing the business into the full-service contractor it is today.
Craig is well-versed in construction, project and people management, with a track record of producing work of exceptional quality across every strand of the business.
Craig is an SVQ qualified Senior Manager and a member of the Institute of Builders.

Michael Kirkpatrick
director
Michael joined Nairn Construction as Construction Manager in 2020, having first met Craig years earlier while both worked for the same tier one contractor. A construction professional with over 25 years of experience, Michael began his career as an engineer on large building projects across the UK before moving into management in 2008, going on to oversee several national, multimillion-pound building projects.
Within a few years of joining Nairn Construction, Michael became a shareholder and stepped into the role of Director. He now oversees operations across the company, playing a central role in how we deliver projects, support our teams and continue to grow.
Michael brings a thoughtful, analytical approach and a grounded understanding of what it takes to turn ambition into reliable delivery — qualities that have helped drive Nairn Construction’s growth from a regional contractor into a larger, stronger and more capable business.
Michael is an SVQ qualified Construction Manager and a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management.
