supporting local talent
Team Nairn make it a priority to support and sponsor local sports clubs, charitable groups and communities. We were delighted recently to be asked to support Lockerbie Academy’s Pistol Shooting Club and we are proud to congratulate them on their recent successes at the British finals!
The competition was held at Chase Leisure Centre, Cannock on the 6th and 7th of February. It was an excellent opportunity to compete on the National stage. The group of local children came home with an individual Silver in the junior section and team Bronze for both the intermediates and seniors, an amazing achievement at a National competition, especially given that some of the participants were fairly new to the sport. None of this would have been possible without the time and dedication provided by Geography teacher Mrs Boardman who has supported countless young people to get involved and develop in the sport over recent years, following the success and enjoyment both herself and her sister have had nationally and internationally.
Along with the Pistol Shooting Club we support a number of other sports individuals and clubs, from Downhill Mountain Biking to Gymnastics, Football, Rugby and Equestrian Eventing. We are always happy to hear their updates and share the highs and lows that contribute to their success in their chosen fields.
