As we mark eight incredible years at Nairn Construction, it’s time to reflect on our journey and celebrate the milestones that have shaped us into the thriving business we are today. From our humble beginnings to our recent successes, Nairn Construction has always been driven by a commitment to quality, teamwork, and growth.

The Beginnings

Nairn Construction was established in 2016 as a consultancy, with a vision to deliver high-quality workmanship safely and professionally. Craig Nairn, our Managing Director, laid the foundation of the company with a clear mission: “To create happiness for our staff and clients by taking pride in what we build.” This ethos has been the driving force behind our success, guiding us through every challenge and triumph.

Growth and Expansion

Our journey has been one of consistent growth, driven by reinvestment in our people and our business. In 2019, Craig recruited the first team members, setting the stage for our expansion. The following year, in 2020, Michael Kirkpatrick joined us, taking a leading role in driving the company forward. His contributions were pivotal, and in 2021, he became a shareholder, solidifying his commitment to Nairn Construction.

That same year, we established our offices and expanded our support team with dedicated QS Estimating and Administration provision. These strategic moves have allowed us to scale our operations while maintaining the high standards of quality and professionalism that our clients expect.

Over the last eight years, our solid financial growth has enabled us to take on more substantial, long-term contracts, deepening our focus on continuous investment in our business and our team. This accomplishment highlights our team’s relentless dedication and the trust our clients place in us. As a result, following a period of consolidation, we have launched three of our largest projects to date in 2024.

Achievements and Milestones

The past eight years have been filled with significant achievements. We are proud to have built a strong brand recognised by major clients for our quality workmanship. Our certifications, including Constructionline Gold, ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, have all been successfully renewed in 2024 with no non-conformances, reaffirming our commitment to health and safety, continuous training, and upskilling our workforce. In addition to this we received the accolade of Outstanding Small Business at the recent business awards.

Building a Strong Team

Our success is built on the strength of our team. From the office staff who keep everything running smoothly to the on-ground teams who deliver exceptional results, every member of #TeamNairn plays a crucial role. We are committed to supporting our employees’ professional development through comprehensive training programs and creating opportunities for career progression.

In 2024 alone, several team members achieved significant milestones, including completing SVQs, apprenticeships, and safety certifications. We believe in recognising and nurturing talent, which is why we continue to invest in our people, providing them with the tools and training they need to succeed.

Looking to the Future

As we celebrate our 8th anniversary, we look to the future with optimism. Our goals for the coming years include expanding our workforce, increasing our turnover and continuing to build a fair work environment that supports career growth and personal development.

We are also focused on expanding our client base, particularly in the renewable sector, and exploring new opportunities closer to home. With a strong foundation, a dedicated team, and a clear vision, we are confident that the next eight years will bring even greater success.
