We’re a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team of construction professionals, and we invest heavily in keeping it that way. We continually assess our training needs and commit to the ongoing education of our site-based teams. All of our supervisors hold current SSSTS or SMSTS qualifications, and that same commitment to competence runs through every level of the business.
Nairn Construction delivers civil engineering and construction work in house, drawing on our own plant, equipment and multi-disciplinary team. In turn, we bring in specialist, approved sub-contractors when a project calls for it. We’re also backed by a number of well-stocked suppliers, covering any additional needs. This means we can offer clients a genuine turnkey solution, from planning through to completion. We carry out every project safely and efficiently, to the highest standards — backed by best practice and our rigorous commitment to health and safety on site.

We are levy paying members of the Construction Industry Training Board. We have a fully trained workforce and are committed to the continued professional development and ongoing training of our workforce.

The ISO 9001 certification demonstrates Nairn Constructions ability to consistently provide products and services that meet and conform to a regulatory requirement. We use a systematic approach for meeting customer objectives and providing consistent quality.
14001 ISO Certified
The ISO 14001 certification demonstrates Nairn Constructions commitment to the prevention of pollution, improvement of environmental performance, and conformance to regulatory compliance. Using an Environmental Management System (EMS) for measuring and improving environmental impact.
45001 ISO Certified
The ISO 45001 certification demonstrates Nairn Constructions commitment to improving employee safety, reducing workplace risks and creating better, safer working conditions.

investing in people
We’re active members of the Dumfries and Galloway Construction Training Group. In addition we use our CITB membership to source the best training providers for every level of our workforce. On top of that, we support any additional training our teams request.
We recognise the current skills shortage in the industry, and we’re addressing it directly. That includes employing trainees and offering multiple apprenticeship and SVQ opportunities. In turn, mentoring and reverse mentoring help us cultivate a learning culture, supporting the company’s growth as a whole.

We handle as much of the process as required in house, from project management to feet on the ground. Where it makes sense, we bring in specialist, approved sub-contractors, or offer clients a full-scale solution from start to finish.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Nairn Construction invests in our local community through ongoing corporate social responsibility initiatives. This adds real value for the communities and clients we work with, and includes:
- Sponsorship of local sports clubs, including Solway Spartans Boxing Club, Annan
- Supporting young people into work through apprenticeships, work experience placements and local school engagement
- Supporting projects in the community through volunteering and construction work
