SUPPORTING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
Nairn Construction adopt a collaborative, engaging approach to the communities we work in. We integrate Community Investment considerations in our decision-making and business practices.
We aim to assist in local capacity building to develop mutually beneficial relationships with communities by contributing to quality of life within our communities. We support local sports groups, community development trusts and facilities such as care homes and youth groups. We work with a number of development trusts and village committees to fit with their funding restraints and ensure that communities receive a job that they are happy with.
From carparks to shed constructions, BBQs to hall refurbishments we are used to working with the Third Sector and will offer support where needed. In addition we are proud sponsors of some local sports groups. You can read about the work we did with Johnstonebridge Community Centre on our news section.
Supporting young people into work
We support modern apprenticeships and trainees as well as developing the young workforce. Our youngest member of staff is 16 years old, yet some of our apprentices have come into construction later in life. This gives our team members the perfect opportunity to work together and learn from each other.
We recruit all of our staff locally and provide them with annual appraisals, quality one to one time with managers and a continuous professional development plan to support their goals.
