Tesco Lochmaben Construction Progresses
The construction of a new retail store in Lochmaben is making significant headway, driven by the dedicated efforts of Nairn Construction. This project, eagerly anticipated by the community, is now in full swing.
Nairn Construction began the enabling works in July 2023, starting with the demolition of the existing petrol station on the site. We then returned to site in April 2024, when the client gave the green light to progress with the build.
Key achievements to date include:
- Decommissioning and removal of fuel tanks: This crucial step has prepared the site for further development.
- Completion of groundworks, building foundations, and drainage: These essential tasks have laid a solid groundwork for the new structure.
- Erection of the steel framework: The Steel Portal Frame is complete, visibly marking the project’s advancement.
- Installation of metal decking and pouring of concrete on the structural floor: These steps open up new work tasks on the internals and cladding.
- Completion of drainage work at the rear of the site: This has enhanced the site’s infrastructure, ensuring efficient water management.
- Installation of new fencing: Securing the site and highlighting the progress being made.
Nairn Construction is committed to maintaining strong communication and cooperation with the Lochmaben community throughout the construction process. Efforts are being made to minimise disruptions and ensure that the build proceeds smoothly.
“We are dedicated to working closely with our neighbours and doing our best to ensure the build causes minimum disruption” Michael Kirkpatrick of Nairn Construction said. “Our team is focused on delivering a high-quality projects that the community can be proud of.”
As the construction continues, Nairn Construction will provide regular updates to keep residents informed of the progress and any upcoming activities. With the steel structure now in place and major groundwork completed, the project is well on its way to fruition, promising to bring new opportunities and services to Lochmaben.
