Corporate Social Responsibility at Nairn Construction
Supporting the Local Community
We work closely with development trusts, village committees and community groups. We shape each project around their funding and their priorities, so the community gets a result it is proud of.
Our support goes beyond the build. We back local sports groups, schools, youth groups, care homes and charities. From car parks to hall refurbishments, we’re used to working with the third sector. You can read about our work with Johnstonebridge Community Centre in our news section.
Fair Work and Social Value
We’re an accredited Living Wage employer and a Fair Work employer. We recruit locally and keep spend in the region where we can. That’s real social value for the communities we serve.
Supporting Young People into Work
We support modern apprenticeships and trainees, and we help develop the young workforce. Some of our apprentices start straight from school. Others come into construction later in life. Working side by side, they learn from each other.
Every colleague has an annual appraisal, regular one-to-one time with their manager and a development plan built around their goals. Nearly all of our team work towards SVQ qualifications. Read about careers with us →

Supporting young people into work
We support modern apprenticeships and trainees as well as developing the young workforce. Our youngest member of staff is 16 years old, yet some of our apprentices have come into construction later in life. This gives our team members the perfect opportunity to work together and learn from each other.
We recruit all of our staff locally and provide them with annual appraisals, quality one to one time with managers and a continuous professional development plan to support their goals.
